Founded in 1994, The Fund for Women Artists has raised over $600,000 in donations and pledges for the future. In its first four years, The Fund for Women Artists has helped to fund fifteen plays, two films, four videos, and thirteen educational projects.

Services
The Fund for Women Artists provides a range of services to help women artists and women-led arts organizations administer their projects from start to finish. For most of the projects listed in this brochure, The Fund for Women Artists helped the artists design the project, provided financial planning and budgeting advice, wrote proposals or solicitation letters to raise funds for the project, provided marketing advice and contacts, publicized the project through The Fund for Women Artists newsletter, and assisted with the bookkeeping and final report preparation.

The artists pay minimal fees for the services they receive, ranging from 5% - 10% of the money actually raised. The Fund for Women Artists raises general operating support from individual donors, foundations, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council to cover most of the personnel and other administrative costs of providing the services to the artists.
